In the 1850's Norwegian Moravians established a settlement on the hills overlooking beautiful Eagle Harbor, calling it Ephraim -- 'twice blessed.' Familiar church steeples stand above the village as witnesses to that heritage. I picture them here on a Sunday afternoon, resting quietly under threatening skies as a sudden burst of sunlight offers a metaphoric promise of salvation, as well as real hope for a brighter tomorrow.
