Daniel Smith creates a strong focal point by using a subtle backlight on the vegetation and bull, whose antlers bear the last remnants of velvet with the approach of autumn.

"Moose have become a favorite subject of mine. They are frequent visitors to my backyard wilderness and have enjoyed drinking from my pond. The largest member of the deer family, males can weigh just under a ton with massive antlers that are shed each year.
