The Chateau Suite

In the central Loire Valley of France, the Renaissance chateau of Chambord sits as the valley's largest and most impressive castle. Circled by a 20 mile wall, construction on this majestic edifice was begun in 1519 and it is believed to have been designed by the great Leonardo da Vinci. Chambord embodies the sheer power of Renaissance architecture. The Gothic richness of the castle's silhouette echos of a medieval "Keep" and seems to assert royal power.
